Exhibition MUSEUM STAMMHEIM

Below is a report from the exhibition  in the Museum STAMMHEIM am Main, which took place on July 13th - 14th, 2019.

Since the journey took a little time, we decided to go to STAMMHEIM on Friday. The decision was right, because in Nuremberg, and around Nuremberg, Friday was a wonderful day to drive a car. If you want to see something, you should take the A3 in Germany on a day like this.

Departure was on Friday at 2:00 p.m. and our arrival just after 6:00 p.m. - you can say "it's dragging a little"

When we arrived in STAMMHEIM, not too many exhibitors were there to set up, but we did meet a few familiar faces. (Model building cellar, Neumarkter, Nürnberger, etc.) We quickly set up our models before we headed towards the hotel. A very nice hotel with nice rooms and a very good breakfast. The dinner turned out to be a little difficult or the matter of finding a suitable location. There was a concert of the Bundeswehr in Schweinfurt and as a result there was an enormous volume of traffic and a large number of visitors. But we were able to find a good Italian where we had a really good meal and were able to have a number of beers .

On Saturday things started at 10:00 a.m. and meanwhile all exhibitors and dealers had arrived. Of course, the whole thing was shaped by military model building - we are also in a military museum - so that's understandable. The museum is very beautiful and for that  that it is privately maintained - ALL ATTENTION - a compliment to the club members   and also to the organizers of the exhibition._cc781905-5cde-3194- bb3b-136bad5cf58d_

In the late afternoon we went with our club members from Neumarkt / Oberpfalz - as is actually tradition - to a Greek restaurant along our route to the hotel. Everything was fine here too. In the evening we sat with Uwe and Gabi from the Christian SCHMIDT bookstore in Munich for a cozy chat in the hotel before we went to bed.

As with every exhibition - Saturday was over quickly - but Sunday lasts, lasts and lasts. So we limited ourselves to the social and also to a few hours of model building, as well as the purchase of various utensils such as glue, tools, etc. Since we had a decent distance to return, we left a little earlier and on the advice of our friends on the main road drove to Nuremberg - wasn't a mistake!

We got back home around 7:00 p.m. on Sunday.

Conclusion of the weekend: It was a nice weekend with many new impressions and acquaintances. Unfortunately, as already mentioned, the mix wasn't what we had imagined. You have to see the exhibition and the museum once. It will not be an annual MUST for us.
